Looking back over the last 18 months of topical physiotherapy blogs completed on the Life Made Simple Physiotherapy website, we’ve picked out some of the blog highlights that remain as relevant now as they did when first published. The latest in this series is called ‘Anyone for tennis?’ from early October 2020.
Tennis is invariably a summer sport, acknowledging that there are now some excellent all-weather facilities, so perhaps the blog is now even more pertinent as we head into the summer months.
Anyone for tennis?
Sport of all kinds is of course very popular across the UK; it’s usually just a preference as to which sport you choose to spend your time enjoying. Here at Life Made Simple, we provide professional physiotherapy in Surrey and Guildford to keep you at your peak performance level.
Tennis in the UK
Tennis in the UK is one of the top sports enjoyed, although according to Statista, the number of people playing fell from 889,300 participants in 2016 to 635,700 in 2021. With the pandemic restrictions having been lifted, these numbers may increase slightly for 2022.
Surrey tennis courts
Get Surrey featured an article in July 2020 on 27 outdoor Surrey tennis courts, including those in Guildford and Godalming, and this can be found here.
Types of tennis injury
It’s great to enjoy outdoor exercise, weather and perhaps temperature allowing. Although with it comes the risk of physical injury, which can come in many forms, as you will be able to see from the following link to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (csp.org.uk) website here.
