Life Made Simple Physiotherapy blogs re-visited | Manifesto to get your body’s aches fixed?

There is something special about welcoming the month of May in the annual calendar. The warmer weather beckons outdoor activity, and hopefully a bit more exercise for us all, as we enjoy the sunshine (and showers of course!) in the Surrey Hills area.

We are continuing with the theme of re-visiting some of our topical physiotherapy blogs from over the last 18 months, which have featured on the Life Made Simple Physiotherapy website. Each has looked at the many ways in which physiotherapy can help individuals. In this blog, we reach back a year to May 2021 to our blog ‘What is your manifesto to get your body’s aches and pains fixed?’, which remains as topical as it was then.

What is your manifesto to get your body’s aches and pains fixed?

The last week or so has been filled with regional election manifestos, results, disappointments and in some cases, change. Each candidate standing on a different platform and extolling the virtues of the changes, sweeping or otherwise, that they plan to make for the next few years. Democracy at its best, and elections are a good thing in revisiting the status quo to ask, ‘Is this still what is wanted or needed? Could we do better?’.

Could you do better?

If you were to think about your body and had a manifesto on what you wanted to get fixed, such as that ongoing ache or pain that’s been lingering for some time, what would be your first election promise? This might seem like a strange question; however, in our experience, many individuals put off, or indeed put up with pain, aches, and discomfort in their lives for lengthy periods, when in fact these could be reduced or solved through physiotherapy, and other treatments such as acupuncture where appropriate.

The key question is, could you do better?

Don’t delay!

The regular strains of daily life do take their toll, and if you are experiencing musculoskeletal pain and discomfort, you probably could do better by seeking professional help from a qualified physiotherapist.

Whatever you do, don’t delay in delivering on the ‘manifesto’ to you. As with politics, putting off a problem can often make the problem worse in the long run.
